- Draft, prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, motions, letters, notices, settlement documents, and other case-related correspondence.

- Prepare documents based on attorney instructions, case information, and applicable templates.

- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and consistency before attorney review or filing.

- Assist attorneys in preparing documents and materials needed for hearings, negotiations, and settlements.

- Prepare and file documents with U.S. federal and state courts through applicable e-filing systems.

- Monitor filing deadlines, court dates, response deadlines, and other case milestones.

- Confirm successful filing and maintain records of court submissions and confirmations.

- Organize and maintain electronic case files, pleadings, correspondence, exhibits, and supporting documentation.

- Assist attorneys with case preparation and general litigation-related tasks.

- Communicate professionally with clients regarding case updates, documentation, scheduling, and follow-ups as directed by the attorney.

- Communicate with opposing counsel, their legal assistants, courts, and other parties regarding procedural and administrative matters.

- Draft professional correspondence and responses for attorney review.

- Follow up on outstanding documents, requests, deadlines, and case-related matters.

- Assist attorneys with settlement discussions and negotiations when needed.

- Prepare settlement-related documents, correspondence, and supporting materials.

- Communicate with opposing counsel regarding settlement logistics and documentation as directed.

- Track settlement offers, counteroffers, agreements, and outstanding requirements.

- Coordinate the completion and exchange of settlement documents.

- Escalate substantive legal decisions, legal advice, or negotiation decisions to the supervising attorney.

- Conduct basic legal and case-related research as assigned.

- Gather and organize relevant case information and supporting documentation.

- Maintain accurate case notes, calendars, and task lists.

- Assist with general administrative and case-management responsibilities.

- Handle confidential client and case information with discretion.

Hard Requirements:

- 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar legal support position.

- Previous experience working with a U.S.-based law firm or U.S. legal matters.

- Hands-on experience drafting legal documents and correspondence.

- Experience with U.S. court filing and e-filing procedures.

- Familiarity with litigation procedures, legal terminology, and case documentation.

- Experience communicating with clients and/or opposing counsel.

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and document accuracy.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.

- Ability to work independently while following attorney instructions.

- Strong understanding of confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive legal information.

- Experience supporting civil litigation matters.

- Previous experience assisting with settlements or negotiations.

- Experience communicating directly with opposing counsel.

- Familiarity with U.S. state and/or federal court systems.

- Experience with legal practice management or case-management software.

- Experience with platforms such as Clio, MyCase, Litify, Filevine, PracticePanther, or similar systems.

Schedule:

HOURS/WEEK:

- 40 hours per week

- Monday to Friday

- 9AM - 5PM Eastern Standard Time Zone

Offer and Benefits:

OFFER:

- Weeks 1–6: $5 USD/hour

- Weeks 7-12: $6 USD/hour

- Weeks 13 onwards: $7 USD/hour
