Remote Salesforce jobs: what you actually need to know
Salesforce is one of the most remote-friendly enterprise platforms in the world — and it's not close. The demand isn't just from Salesforce itself (which posts a relatively small number of roles); it's from the huge ecosystem of consultancies, independent software vendors, and product companies that build on the platform. If you work in the Salesforce ecosystem, remote is the default, not the exception.
The real breakdown of remote Salesforce roles
When people say "Salesforce jobs" they usually mean one of three distinct tracks, and they pay differently and require different skills:
- Technical — developers, technical architects, and Solution/Technical consultants. The largest tier. You're writing Apex, Lightning components, or configuring the platform deeply. Highest pay ceiling.
- Functional / Analytical — business analysts, product managers, and CRM consultants who translate business requirements into Salesforce configuration. Often the most in-demand for remote roles because the work is communication-heavy.
- Administration & Support — admins and business system analysts who keep an org running. Steady, repeatable work, and a common entry point into the ecosystem.
Where the demand actually is
On RemoShift, the Salesforce-jobs pool is dominated by a small number of large employers — and that concentration matters. The top hirer records over 500 Salesforce-matching roles, comfortably ahead of everyone else. Following them are product and infrastructure companies and a cluster of consultancies. If you're job hunting, the fastest path is to target those high-volume hirers directly, then widen to the long tail. For live openings at any of them, filter the list below.
Remote, hybrid or onsite?
Not every Salesforce role is fully remote. On RemoShift the split across roles that mention Salesforce is roughly 76% fully remote, ~23% onsite-listed, and a small hybrid slice. But "onsite-listed" here often just means the employer hasn't marked it remote-anywhere — read the posting's location and remote clause before applying. If you're location-independent, filter for roles that explicitly say work-from-anywhere.
What remote Salesforce jobs pay
About 30% of Salesforce-titled roles disclose a salary on RemoShift, and it's a useful signal rather than a summary. The roles that do post a number are heavily skewed toward the upper end of the market — administrators and consultants in particular. Developer and architect roles more often negotiate privately, so a missing number isn't a bad sign. When a salary is shown, treat it as the anchor; the real range for senior technical Salesforce work is meaningfully higher.
How to stand out in a remote Salesforce search
- Show a configured org, not just a certification. Remote employers want evidence — a trailhead-strength profile and a demonstrable build beats a list of badges.
- Lead certifications by tier. Administrators and consultants should surface their platform credential prominently; developer/architect roles care about the technical track.
- Read the remote clause. Fully-remote-anywhere, remote-in-timezone, and hybrid are different jobs. Don't waste an application on a location-bound role if you're not there.
- Target the big hirers. Consultancies and ISVs run remote-first delivery teams and staff constantly. They're the highest-velocity pipeline.
