Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is the leading software developer and solution provider for Emergency Call Handling, the software that enables 911 centers to receive and process calls in Public Safety Answering Points across North America. The Emergency Call Handling solution team is one business sleeve of the Motorola Solutions Software Enterprise where innovation of workflow enhancements are being developed for call handling, incident management, responder dispatching and situational awareness.

Job Description

As a software developer, you will be joining a team developing a next generation 911 call handling solution that complies with industry standards and market demands, is capable of being deployed as a service or on-premises and meets high availability requirements our users have come to expect of 911 services. The team will utilize development talent across multiple design centers using Agile scrum methodology.
Responsibilities:

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems.

Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.

Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.

4+ years of professional software development.

-
Good knowledge of JAVA and its development ecosystem.

Hands-on experience with web application development (Angular, Javascript)

Software Development: understanding of object-oriented coding and design, design patterns

- Excellent communication skills

Experience developing cloud-based applications

Experience developing REST-based APIs and implementing microservice principles and architectures

Experience with modern Source control and DevOps tooling (including Git, Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines)

Familiarity with the concepts involved in designing a high availability architecture

Familiarity with observability and monitoring

Familiarity with unit and automated testing

Creativity and persistence when solving complex problem
