Job Description:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the execution of turn-key EPC/core onlyprojects
with the objective to deliver the projects on-time, on-budget, and without incidents/accidents.
This position will report to the Head of Projects, UK &Ireland and requires an autonomous and pragmatic individual who has experience working in a matrixed and virtual environment,
workingwithmultiplestakeholders,workingonmultipleprojects/tasksatonetime,andworking as part of a global team. Familiarity with typical codes & standards for electrical equipment and experience with turn-key energy infrastructure project construction is required.
Experience within Energy Storage markets is an advantage but is not mandatory, an agile mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.
RESPONSIBILITY
•TheseniorprojectmanagerwillhaveP&Lresponsibilityforprojectsupto$30M+in
value.
- Responsible to ensure all Fluence projects are delivered safely, to code, on time, on
budget,andtothecustomers’satisfaction.Thisworkwillbedoneinconformancewithan
internal quality program certified to ISO 9001 with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
•Lead turn-key EPC battery energy storage projects through delivery, from contract
executionthroughtosuccessfulhandovertooperations,workinginclosecollaboration
with relevant functional groups including finance, engineering, procurement.
•Leadteamsinreviewingengineeringdesigns,managingprojectschedules,budgets,
people allocation, and safety/quality plans across projects at various stages oflife.
•Rapidlyresolvetechnicalissuestoensureprojectsdelivertoquality,timeandcost.
•Manageand coordinate with other functions tocloseall snags, quality issues and non-
conformances.
•ManagerelationshipswithEPC,EquipmentDeliveryandotherpartnersthroughthe
Project Delivery phase.
•Overseecontractorsandsub-contractorstoensurequalityandschedulearemetandto
ensure safety guidelines and requirements are followed on job sites.
•Proactivelyworkwithcustomers,suppliers,partners,salesandseniormanagementas
necessary to ensure project deliverables and contract requirements are met.
•Evaluateconstructionmethodstodeterminecost-effectivenessofplansandoptimize
value-engineering opportunities.
•Participateinbusinessimprovementprojectsincludingdocumentingand
communicating initial project plans and any changes to the team.
•Supportnegotiationsregardingprojectcontractswithpotentialcontractorsand
suppliers.
•Alongside the assigned project finance team member, responsible for budget review,
projectrevenue,andcashflowforecasts,andwhenappropriateproposingmitigationto
contain cost growth.
•The candidate will have strong communications skills, be able to represent Fluence in
personandthroughwrittenmaterialwithexecutivesfromkeycustomers,regulatoryand
other officials, and with the leadership of key supply chain or servicepartners.
•Ability to work in a manner consistent with the Fluence values of Leading, Agile,
Responsible,andFun.Abilitytoteachandcultivatethosevaluesthroughoutthe Fluence
organization.
•TherolewillreporttotheHeadofProjects,UK &IrelandaspartoftheProject
SKILLS&QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’sDegreeorequivalentinengineering,physics,orothertechnicaldiscipline.
•Combined5years’experienceinprojectmanagement,constructionmanagement,or
engineeringwithinthepowergenerationmarket.Experiencedeliveringaprojecttoa
Utility customer in Ireland is a plus.
•Minimum3yearsP&Lresponsibilitydeliveringequipmentsupplyorturn-keyprojects.
