DevOps Engineer (WFH)

About the job:
We are looking for a skilled, proactive DevOps Engineer to manage, automate, and optimise our development and production infrastructure. You will work closely with our development and QA teams to keep deployments reliable, infrastructure scalable, and systems available.

Key responsibilities:

1. Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployments

2. Manage cloud infrastructure and services on AWS and Microsoft Azure

3. Set up, configure and maintain Linux (Ubuntu) servers and cloud environments

4. Deploy and manage containerised applications with Docker and orchestration tools

5. Configure web servers, reverse proxies and load balancers such as Nginx

6. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and routine operational tasks

7. Set up monitoring, logging and alerting, and track server health, performance and uptime

8. Manage databases, backups and disaster recovery

9. Apply security best practices: IAM and access control, SSH hardening, firewalls, SSL certificates and secrets management

10. Streamline development, staging, QA and production environments together with the developers

11. Find infrastructure bottlenecks and improve performance, reliability, and cloud costs

12. Handle production issues and failed deployments with minimal downtime, and keep infrastructure documentation up to date

Skills required:

Other Requirements:
- Required:
- 1. 2–5 years of hands-on DevOps experience
- 2. Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure (VMs, networking, storage, security)
- 3. Strong Linux server administration: SSH, shell scripting, permissions, processes, services, and logs
- 4. Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Bitbucket Pipelines, and a strong grasp of Git workflows
- 5. Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose (Kubernetes is a plus)
- 6. Working knowledge of Bash or Python for automation
- 7. Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, firewalls, ports, and reverse proxies
- 8. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack
- 9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (preferred)

Deployment experience with Django/Python and Node.js applications
- 2. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Redis, including backup strategies
- 3. Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- 4. AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, and cloud networking
- 5. Kubernetes and Helm
- 6. AI/ML workloads and GPU-based infrastructure
- 7. High-availability architecture, scalability, and disaster recovery
