We are looking for an experienced infrastructure engineer to join our AI/HPC Data Centre Strategy and Development team as Technical Director (AI Infrastructure). You will advise clients and internal teams on the mechanical and electrical systems that power AI and HPC environments, from power distribution and cooling strategy to resilience and operational readiness.

This is a home-based role covering Europe, with regular travel to client sites, workshops and design reviews.
The Role:

As Technical Director for AI Infrastructure, you will advise clients and internal teams on the mechanical and electrical infrastructure that supports AI and HPC environments.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Advising clients on AI infrastructure architecture and its mechanical and electrical implications, including power distribution, UPS, standby generation and cooling

- Setting guidance and best practice for critical electrical infrastructure, including protection, resilience and capacity growth

- Developing technical strategies and reference approaches for AI, HPC and high-density data centre infrastructure

- Providing technical review and assurance of designs, proposals and operational plans from internal teams and partners

- Identifying technical risks, weak assumptions and capacity constraints, and providing clear corrective guidance

- Consulting with clients to understand business drivers, technical requirements and growth expectations

- Delivering customer presentations, technical workshops and advisory sessions

- Staying current with emerging AI infrastructure trends and translating these into practical guidance and training across the business

What you bring:

- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related technical discipline

- Demonstrable experience in mechanical and electrical infrastructure design, delivery, operations or advisory work within data centres, HPC or other mission-critical environments

- Practical knowledge of AI and HPC infrastructure drivers: rack density, power demand growth, thermal intensity, resilience and deployment speed

- A strong understanding of critical electrical infrastructure, including LV/MV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators and resilience philosophies (N, N+1, 2N, 4N3)

- Proven ability to engage clients, lead technical conversations and deliver clear presentations to technical and non-technical audiences

- Strong analytical thinking, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills

- A self-starting approach, able to work independently while maintaining delivery quality

- Willingness to travel across Europe and wider EMEA for client meetings, workshops and site surveys

Experience that stands out:

Particularly relevant background includes consultancy, colocation, hyperscale, enterprise, telecommunications, critical manufacturing, utilities, electrical contracting, electrical OEM or specialist MEP environments.

Compensation Range: €80- 90,000 gross per year, depending on relevant qualifications and experience.

This role is home-based within Europe, with regular travel required to support client meetings, site surveys, design reviews and workshops across Europe and wider EMEA.
