Job Description:
As a teacher coordinator, you will have a wide range of responsibilities to ensure that languages teachers (English and Japanese) are able to effectively fulfill the teaching requests of clients. Though not a comprehensive list, the primary tasks you will be expected to carry out are listed below.

- Handling of communication with both clients and teachers via phone and email
- Interviewing and hiring of prospective teachers, including attending onsite client interviews
- Coordinating schedule updates between clients and teachers
- Communicating teacher absence to clients and coordinating cover or make-up lessons
- Covering for absent English teachers when alternative arrangements cannot be made
- Escorting teachers on their first day at a new site to ensure smooth onboarding
- Managing timesheets for teachers to ensure that payroll is processed correctly
ALT-related tasks
- Planning and creation of ALTs' schedules (primarily during March/April period)
- Training of ALTs during April and August sessions
- Visiting schools for lesson viewings and providing feedback to ALTs
Other tasks may include assisting in the translation of documents, or handling the ad hoc requests of clients.
Clients favour communicating in Japanese whilst language teachers generally communicate in the language they are teaching. As such, a strong command of both languages in all forms is a requirement for this position. The office language is Japanese, though other bilingual staff are also present.
