Strategic Events Manager Contractor
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Events Manager Contractor based in United States.
This contract role supports a busy Field and Events Marketing team during a high-volume event season and a period of team coverage. You will lead the planning and execution of large-scale, company-hosted events from initial strategy through onsite delivery. The role also includes managing tradeshow sponsorships and supporting smaller customer and networking events. You’ll coordinate timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver seamless experiences. This is an opportunity for an experienced events professional to step into a fast-paced environment and make an immediate impact. The contract runs through April 30, 2027, at 30–40 hours per week.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as project manager for large-scale, company-hosted events, owning planning, coordination, and hands-on execution from start to finish.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, vendors, and deliverables while keeping cross-functional stakeholders aligned.
- Oversee event logistics including venues, hotels, audiovisual services, catering, registration, and attendee experiences.
- Act as the onsite lead during events, ensuring smooth execution and quickly resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Plan and execute small- and medium-sized tradeshow sponsorships at industry conferences, including contracting, vendors, budgets, and logistics.
- Partner with Sales and other internal teams attending events to coordinate needs and ensure strong event execution.
- Support additional events as needed, including lunch-and-learns, VIP happy hours and dinners, and networking events.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional event planning experience, with demonstrated ability to plan and execute full conferences end to end.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-day conferences or customer-facing events.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple timelines, budgets, vendors, and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and keeping stakeholders aligned throughout complex projects.
- Comfortable with limited travel of up to 10% and onsite event management responsibilities.
- Highly self-motivated and able to ramp up quickly, self-onboard, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in the Atlanta area and availability to work from an Alpharetta or Glencastle office one to two times per week is a plus.
