Summary:
The role serves as a senior commercial and technical advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, leading complex opportunities, strengthening long-term customer partnerships, improving forecast accuracy, and identifying growth opportunities that support regional and business objectives. The Sr Sales Rep is responsible for managing and growing assigned customer accounts through consultative selling, strategic relationship management, and identification of new business opportunities. This position partners closely with customers and internal stakeholders to provide value-based solutions, drive revenue growth, maintain accurate sales forecasts, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The role serves as a trusted advisor while promoting Voith products and services that support customer operational and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned accounts and/or strategic territories to meet sales, order, margin, customer satisfaction, and expense objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customer decision-makers, including senior operational, technical, and commercial stakeholders, to position Voith as a trusted partner.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Product Management and Manufacturing to deliver value-added solutions and resolve customer issues.
- Present and promote value-added products and technical services by analyzing data and delivering reports that support customer decision-making and acceptance.
- Determine with sales management and regional team members prescribed levels of call frequencies through accounts planning to include machine downtime coverage.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and market insight to support business planning and S&OP processes.
- Monitor account performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Support product installations, maintain accurate reporting and database records, and promptly escalate product performance or runnability issues.
- Serve as a senior resource for sales process, account planning, customer strategy, CRM discipline, and technical value-selling practices; share knowledge and provide informal coaching to other sales team members as appropriate.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Paper Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and sales experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of B2B sales, key account management, business development, or technical sales experience.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex customer accounts and/or strategic territories while delivering sales growth, customer retention, and strong business results.
- Strong collaboration and leadership-through-influence skills, with the ability to work across technical, operations, customer service, product management, manufacturing, and leadership teams.
- Experience managing customer relationships and growing existing accounts within industrial, manufacturing, technical products, chemicals, process industries, capital equipment, or related markets preferred.
