SharePoint Specialist (Governance & Solutions)
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Specialist to support an ongoing SharePoint implementation project. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining, documenting, and governing SharePoint standards, policies, and best practices across the organisation.
This role combines governance, business analysis, and technical solution design. The SharePoint Specialist will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to translate governance requirements into practical and sustainable SharePoint solutions within the capabilities and limitations of the Microsoft 365 platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365 environments.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing SharePoint governance frameworks .
- Strong expertise in information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, and document management .
- Solid understanding of:
- SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 Administration
- Microsoft Teams integration
- Permissions and security models
- Records management and compliance
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions .
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills , with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills .
- Knowledge of enterprise content management and collaboration best practices .
- Experience working in large-scale digital workplace transformation programmes .
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps .
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Viva .
- Experience with SharePoint migration projects .
- Experience working with enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SharePoint governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures .
- Define best practices for site lifecycle, document management, metadata, taxonomy, permissions, retention, and compliance .
- Design and implement scalable SharePoint Online solutions , including sites, libraries, lists, navigation, and information architecture.
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical SharePoint solutions .
- Advise stakeholders on SharePoint and Microsoft 365 best practices, capabilities, and limitations .
- Collaborate with business owners, architects, security teams, project teams, and end users .
- Create and maintain technical documentation, governance guidelines, and operating procedures .
- Support SharePoint projects, solution reviews, testing, validation, and adoption activities .
- Identify and address risks, dependencies, compliance issues, and opportunities for optimisation .
- Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to administrators and site owners.
