Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. Guided by our mission to make the world’s health data secure, accessible and actionable, we provide critical data solutions for organizations across the healthcare ecosystem - including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. From fulfilling a single patient’s request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavant ers are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health.

By joining Datavant today, you’re stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join a client-focused product zone reimagining how medical records are retrieved and delivered. You’ll help create new 0-to-1 products that expand the reach of our retrieval network, build self-service capabilities that give users greater visibility and control, and evolve our core platform to improve usability and unlock new capabilities.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for a designer who pairs strong craft with product thinking. You’ll own the end-to-end design process, work directly with external clients and internal users, and partner closely with Product and Engineering to turn complex healthcare workflows into simple, effective experiences. You’ll thrive here if you are self-directed, curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by measurable customer and business outcomes.
What You Will Do

- Lead end-to-end product design, from discovery and problem framing through prototyping, validation, implementation, and iteration.

- Shape and launch 0-to-1 products that expand how Datavant delivers value.

- Design self-service experiences that give users greater visibility, control, and confidence throughout the retrieval process.

- Evolve our core client platform and internal operational tools to improve usability, streamline workflows, and enable scalable feature development.

- Engage directly with clients and internal users through interviews, workflow observation, concept testing, and usability research.

- Translate complex, data-heavy, and regulated healthcare workflows into clear user journeys, intuitive interactions, and polished interfaces.

- Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Client Success, and Operations to define problems, align on outcomes, and make thoughtful product tradeoffs.

- Use prototypes and research insights to test assumptions early, reduce delivery risk, and inform product strategy and prioritization.

What You Need to Succeed

- 6+ years of product design experience, ideally with enterprise, workflow, platform, or data-intensive products.

- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership, excellent interaction and visual design craft, and the impact of your work.

- Experience taking ambiguous opportunities from 0 to 1, including framing the problem, exploring solutions, validating concepts, and learning after launch.

- Strong product judgment and a track record of connecting user needs with business goals and technical constraints.

- Experience conducting research and facilitating productive conversations with external clients, internal users, and cross-functional partners.

- A self-directed working style: you identify what is needed, create clarity, and move work forward.

- Ability to simplify complex workflows and communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Advanced proficiency in Figma, prototyping, and design systems, with a strong understanding of accessible and responsive interaction design.

- Comfort using AI-enabled tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototyping, and collaboration; experience with tools such as Claude Code.

- Experience designing in healthcare, fintech, or another complex or regulated environment is a plus.
