Senior Bookkeeper

Role overview

Remote Recruitment is hiring a remote Senior Bookkeeper to support a UK-based employer from South Africa. You'll own the day-to-day books and make sure the numbers are clean before they reach the accountant. This is a fully remote role working 09:00–17:00 UK time (11:00–19:00 SAST).
Key responsibilities

- Maintain the general ledger and post journals accurately

- Run bank, supplier and customer reconciliations each month

- Manage VAT records and prepare returns for review

- Produce month-end reports and management accounts packs

- Support the accountant at year-end and keep audit trails tidy

What you'll need

- Solid bookkeeping experience up to trial balance

- Strong working knowledge of Xero, Sage or QuickBooks

- Confidence with spreadsheets and reconciliations

- Clear written and spoken English

- A reliable home internet connection and quiet workspace
