Job Description:
This position provides analytical and program support to strengthen OCSE’s oversight of state and tribal child support programs through reporting analysis, data quality review, and targeted technical assistance. The role supports federal monitoring and operational improvement efforts by analyzing program and financial reports, identifying reporting risks and performance trends, resolving data issues, and developing analytical tools that inform oversight and decision making. The position also contributes to technical assistance activities aimed at improving reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, compliance, and overall program performance.
The role also supports broader DFS data analytics functions, including QA review, validation of national child support statistics, requirements development for new analytics environments, and contribution to OCSE’s modernized AWS-based Data Analytics (DA) platform.
Responsibilites:

Conduct detailed reviews of OCSE34, OCSE157, and OCSE396 reports submitted by state child support agencies to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and identification of anomalies.

Identify discrepancies across reporting periods, performance indicators, and financial data; analyze trends and provide recommendations to address data quality issues and reporting risks.

Coordinate with Regional Office staff and state agencies to resolve reporting errors and data anomalies.

Ensure timely follow‑up and clear feedback to support improved reporting accuracy.

Perform data analysis related to program performance, fiscal compliance, and reporting quality; develop dashboards, visualizations, and analytical tools to support oversight and decision making.

Provide data‑driven technical assistance to grantees, offering timely analytical feedback to support early issue detection and corrective action efforts.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen reporting practices.

Assist with technical guidance on federal reporting requirements and support documentation of review procedures, analytical methods, and business processes.

Collaborate with and provide direct analytical support to DRO staff.

Conduct reviews of OCSE34 and SF‑425 reports submitted by tribal child support agencies for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and anomalies, as requested.

Collaborate with Federal teams to define requirements for new reports, including validation and monthly distribution of the FPLS Monthly Statistics Report.

Serve as OCSE data experts by reviewing and validating OCSE statistics prior to external publication or presentation.

Maintain data and calculations necessary to estimate NDNH‑attributable collections.

Conduct cost/benefit analysis, burden estimates for legislative proposals, and statistical research to support budget control processes.

Provide liaison services to external agencies receiving or supplying data (e.g., BLS, SSA) to determine MI reporting needs.

Provide subject matter expertise in the development of management information repositories and analytics tools used across DFS.

Catalog dataset information across system teams, security, IV&V, and other stakeholders for use in analytics environments.

Support development, testing, and validation of standard reports, curated datasets, data transformations, and end‑user documentation in MICRS and the AWS DA environment.
