Reconciliations Clerk

Salary: R23 000 - R25 000 per month

Remote Recruitment is hiring a Reconciliations Clerk for a UK employer, fully remote from South Africa.
Role overview

You will match what the bank says against what the ledger says, and chase every difference until it is explained. It suits someone patient with detail who finds a clean, balanced reconciliation quietly satisfying.

You will work 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST) from home, with equipment guidance, a proper induction and a manager who is contactable through the day. This is a permanent role, not a short contract.
Key responsibilities

- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts

- Investigate unmatched items and resolve them at source

- Reconcile supplier and customer statements to the ledger

- Post correcting journals with clear supporting notes

- Flag recurring mismatches to the finance manager

- Support month-end close with complete, tidy working papers

What you'll need

- One or more years in a reconciliations, bookkeeping or finance clerk role

- Experience with an accounting system such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks

- Confident with Excel lookups, filters and pivot tables

- A methodical approach and the persistence to close out differences

- Reliable home internet and a quiet space for UK-hours work

Nice to have

- Exposure to multi-currency reconciliations

- Experience with high-volume transaction environments

- Familiarity with UK VAT basics
