We are recruiting on behalf of a US-based organisation operating within the healthcare and professional services space , supporting the placement and employment of healthcare professionals in the United States.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Immigration & Compliance Coordinator to join our client's compliance operations team.
This is a non-voice, document- and research-driven role focused on immigration, contracts, employment compliance, case administration, and operational coordination. You will work remotely from South Africa and report into the client's Director of Compliance, supporting internal teams, leadership, employees, and external counsel.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, enjoys researching and solving problems, and can independently drive tasks forward while knowing when an issue requires escalation.
You will be responsible for keeping case information accurate and current, ensuring deadlines remain visible, coordinating documentation and filings, conducting compliance research, and turning your findings into clear, practical recommendations.

Working Hours: Monday โ Friday, 3:00 PM โ 12:00 AM South African time โ subject to daylight savings.

Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA).

Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.

Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.

Role Type: This is primarily a non-voice/documentation and research-based position, with occasional verbal communication required for routine enquiries.
Job Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Coordinate immigration filings, amendments, renewals, withdrawals, and supporting documentation with counsel and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case information, records, and documentation.
- Manage recruitment agreements, job orders, powers of attorney, and related follow-up.
- Track deadlines, case status, outstanding documentation, and required actions to ensure nothing is missed.
- Conduct research into federal and state employment requirements using reliable and credible sources.
- Translate research findings into concise, practical recommendations, policies, and action plans.
- Review and update contracts, addenda, templates, and compliance records.
- Identify documentation or compliance gaps and escalate matters requiring further judgement or review.
- Respond to routine employee and internal compliance-related enquiries.
- Work closely with leadership, employees, counsel, and cross-functional teams to keep projects and cases moving forward.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks from identifying the required next step through to completion and confirmation.
- Maintain organised trackers and systems that provide clear visibility of case status, deadlines, and outstanding actions.
- Ensure routine matters are handled independently while appropriately escalating issues that require additional judgement.
Requirements:
Industry Experience:
- Experience in operations, compliance support, HR, case management, analytics, legal administration, or a similar field is advantageous.
- Candidates with strong transferable experience and the right aptitude will be considered.
