Health and Safety Business Partner (Remote, GB, REMOTE)

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Health & Safety Business Partner in a UK-wide role.

37.5 hours per week. UK travel is expected.

Join our Public Estates team and lead health and safety across a diverse, complex operational portfolio. You will partner with operational directors, guide a team of Operational Safety Advisors and help make 'Safety First, Always' visible in day-to-day decisions. This is an influential role with the opportunity to shape strategy, strengthen a fair and learning culture, and improve how risks are understood and managed across the business.

What you will do

- Lead and develop a team of Operational Safety Advisors across Public Estates.

- Shape, deliver and monitor the Business Unit Health & Safety Strategic Plan, ensuring priorities are understood and acted on.

- Partner with senior operational leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen safety performance, collaboration and accountability.

- Provide direction on incident investigations, root cause analysis and effective preventive action, ensuring legal and company requirements are met.

- Use insight from performance reviews, employee engagement and site visits to understand the risk profile and drive practical improvement.

- Develop safety campaigns, stand-downs, training and policy improvements, while sharing best practice and supporting work-winning activity.

What you will bring

Essential

- A Level 6 NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.

- Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, or evidence that you are working towards chartered status.

- Senior-level health and safety experience in a diverse and complex operating business, with strong commercial awareness.

- Experience influencing operational directors and leadership teams, building trusted relationships and turning strategy into practical action.

- A collaborative, consultative and decisive approach, with clear communication and the confidence to challenge constructively.

- Experience supporting culture change, assurance activity, incident investigation, training and continuous improvement.

Desirable

- Experience developing portfolio-wide assurance programmes or undertaking compliance and conformance audits.

- Experience contributing health and safety strategy and solutions to bids or work-winning activity.
