Job Description:
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Business Intelligence Developer to join our team, supporting the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The primary responsibility of this role is to obtain and analyze data through advanced computerized models and algorithms to inform strategic decision-making and optimize business outcomes for major government infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work with technical teams to design and implement data collection tools and techniques to ensure the appropriate integrity, frequency, and confidence is achieved.
- Create data pipelines that utilize data sources via Python SQL and/or Azure Data factory.
- Extrapolate data patterns using advanced algorithms to identify actionable insights.
- Develop graphs, charts, and visualizations to communicate complex technical findings.
- Present analytical outcomes to managers and stakeholders to guide business model adjustments and future planning.
- Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from multiple VA sources.
- Translate raw data into meaningful reports that support healthcare transformation goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with program objectives.
- Support predictive modeling and trend analysis to improve veteran healthcare delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years’ experience in systems engineering, enterprise analytics environments, platform modernization, or technical analytical studies within large-scale enterprise or Federal environments.
- Experience with Azure Government, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or comparable enterprise cloud analytics platforms.
- Experience analyzing business and technical processes and translating requirements into enterprise technology or ERP solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, systems integration, or analytics environments.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, triage, and resolve complex technical issues across interconnected systems and organizational infrastructure.
- Experience providing technical direction, guidance, or oversight to engineering and technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, other federal agencies, or large public-sector organizations.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms and ERP modernization or implementation initiatives.
