Deputy Head of Accounting

EMCD is a leading technology company in the crypto industry, best known as the largest mining pool in Eastern Europe. We are expanding globally and building a comprehensive ecosystem of crypto services, including payment infrastructure, custody, mining solutions and enterprise-grade tools for businesses and institutions.

We are looking for a Deputy Head of Accounting to strengthen our international finance function and take ownership of accounting processes across several jurisdictions. This role is a strong fit for an experienced accounting professional who can combine hands-on accounting expertise with strong control, reporting and process improvement skills.
Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accounting records for a group of international companies across multiple jurisdictions in 1C, QuickBooks and comparable systems; review entries and restore records when required.

- Review and control financial transactions, monitor accounts receivable and payable, and perform reconciliations with counterparties, tax authorities and other parties.

- Request, collect and process primary documentation (invoices, acts, bank statements, contracts) and check counterparty documents against contractual terms; prepare and issue invoices to international partners.

- Manage document flow with contractors, clients and outsourcing providers, maintaining physical and electronic archives.

- Prepare quarterly financial reporting, tax filings and other statutory reporting; analyze financial data to support management reporting.

- Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities — prepare supporting documentation and advance expense reports, and address audit findings.

- Set up, review and improve accounting processes, including automation and optimization of accounting systems.

- Participate in contract review and approval from a finance perspective, support payroll, and work directly with the Finance Director on accounting, reporting and audit.

Requirements

- At least two years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management within international companies.

- Practical knowledge of accounting and reporting across three to four jurisdictions, such as the USA, UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kazakhstan or Russia.

- Knowledge of US accounting and tax principles is highly desirable, with a particular focus on candidates who have practical experience with the US jurisdiction.

- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including system setup, as well as experience with 1C or comparable accounting systems.

- Solid knowledge of accounting entries and core financial reporting principles.

- Experience with payroll calculations and statutory reporting.

- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

- Experience with fiat and crypto transactions and their accounting treatment is highly desirable.

- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, responsibility, initiative and a results-oriented mindset.
