Data Engineer / Migration Specialist

Responsibilities

- Plan and run data migrations from legacy systems (VistA, Maximo, DMLSS) to modern platforms, and write the data migration plans.

- Build ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks (PySpark, Spark SQL) and VALIP.

- Write and maintain the data mapping and validation plan; reconcile and validate data after each load.

- Mask and sanitize production data for lower environments.

- Support data extraction, analytics requests and decommissioning data archives.

Qualifications

- 6+ years in ETL, data migration or database development (Mid / Level II).

- SQL and Python; PySpark or Spark SQL.

- Data mapping, validation and reconciliation for migrations.

Desired Skills:

- Migrating from VistA, Maximo or DMLSS.

- Data masking for lower environments.

- HL7, FHIR or EDI data formats.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree.

- Certified (Maximo) Deployment Professional.

- Databricks Certified Data Engineer; Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer.

Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential.

Location:
- Remote, USA.

Pay Range:

- The suggested pay for this position ranges from $110,546 to $125,875.

- The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

- Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
