The Role

We are looking for a Controller to own our accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will lead the close, make sure our financials are accurate and audit-ready, and give leadership the insight needed to make sound decisions as we grow. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will manage the accounting function and still be close to the details.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring timely and accurate results

- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections

- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies

- Coordinate external audits and tax filings and work with outside CPAs and advisors

- Manage and develop members of the accounting team

- Provide financial analysis and reporting to the executive team

- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools

- Support compliance with applicable regulatory and financial reporting requirements

Qualifications

- 10+ years of professional accounting or finance experience

- 3+ years of managerial experience, including direct supervision of staff

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting

- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

- Must be US based

Preferred

- Experience in insurance or health care

- CPA license

- Experience in a growing or fast-moving company

What We Offer

- Fully remote position (must be US based)

- Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 on base + performance bonus
