All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions. JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
Overview

JerseySTEM is looking for volunteers to support our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

Help us stay connected with local middle schools. As a School Liaison, you’ll be the friendly point of contact between JerseySTEM and Public school staff helping us schedule programs and keep communication clear and easy.

Great for former teachers, school staff, or anyone who enjoys community outreach.

Your typical JerseySTEM week involves (illustrative): ~ 1 hour/day

Daily: Check Email, Forward Email, Answer questions by Email for 15mn-30mn

Monday: Call a school teacher who needs some information about one of the programs

Tuesday: Have a 1:1 call with your JerseysTEM Manager to decide on work to do

Wednesday: Check Email, Forward Email, Answer questions by Email for 30mn-hour

Thursday: Join a meeting with the other JerseySTEM volunteers.

Friday: Leave a voice message to a school principal about a missing document or an incoming meeting.

No Travel or in-person required, unless interested.
