About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Claims Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage and process a variety of claims related to household goods cargo, commercial/logistics cargo, property damage, delays, and warehouse-related claims.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle incoming claims and guide customers through the claims filing process

- Investigate, evaluate, process, and settle claims efficiently and accurately

- Communicate with customers, drivers, crew members, agencies, and internal teams regarding claims updates and resolutions

- Review bills of lading, inventory sheets, warehouse receipts, claim forms, and supporting documentation

- Determine liability, coverage, and settlement amounts based on company procedures and regulatory requirements

- Manage claims within Supermove and other online claims systems

- Coordinate inspections, repairs, and missing item investigations

- Draft release agreements and process settlement payouts

- Track and report claims activity, trends, and loss statistics

- Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams on chargebacks, credits, and settlement schedules

- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, military business rules, and company policies

- Assist in developing SOPs and improving claims processes

Qualifications

- Previous claims handling experience required

- Moving industry experience strongly preferred

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

- High attention to detail and ability to process large amounts of information accurately

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

- Positive attitude and ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
