Business Analyst (Contract)
IN SHORT
MSQ DX is looking for a Business Analyst to provide additional delivery and requirements capacity for a forecasting product line in the healthcare space. This role supports the existing Product Manager while helping define how the forecasting platform becomes part of a broader strategy intelligence experience and future AI-enabled decision workflows.
This is a hybrid role: heavier on the business analysis (requirements, documentation, methodology translation) while also carrying core project management responsibilities (backlog health, sequencing, cross-team coordination). The right person is comfortable translating ambiguous methodology and data questions into clear, well-formed product requirements, and keeping delivery moving without becoming a bottleneck for engineering.
Note: This is a contract position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Epics, features, stories, and backlog sequencing.
- Regular forecast release and enhancement work.
- Documentation and planning for a new forecast engine and methodology translation.
- Scenario modeling and future-state assumptions, documented clearly for stakeholders.
- Integration points between forecasting product, claims data, clearinghouse data, market data, and decision-support workflows.
- Requirements for Forecast’s AI chat/assistant capabilities.
- Support for experience design across Forecast entry points, workflows, and analytics surfaces.
- Alignment between Forecast data readiness and the broader platform delivery roadmap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain a clear, healthy backlog and near-term roadmap.
- Coordinate product decisions across product subject-matter experts, Data Science, Engineering, and UX teams.
- Translate methodology changes into customer-facing requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Define how the product relates to and integrates with other platform capabilities.
- Clarify how outputs support broader decision-making workflows (e.g., identify → decide → act).
- Make assumptions, limitations, and reconciliation requirements explicit and visible to stakeholders.
- Help define ownership and scope for the product experience where it's currently unclear.
- Prepare product project work to support AI-enabled discovery, requirements, and validation.
- Maintain documentation that can support trusted data queries and future semantic/AI modeling needs.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong business analysis fundamentals: requirements gathering, documentation, and translating ambiguity into clear specs.
- Solid project/product management fundamentals: backlog management, sequencing, cross-team coordination.
- Comfort communicating data assumptions and methodology to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working across capability areas (i.e., not siloed to one team or workflow).
- Familiarity with AI-ready documentation and trusted analytics concepts.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar backlog/work-tracking tools.
NICE TO HAVE
- Healthcare utilization and demand forecasting experience
- Scenario modeling experience
- Background in strategic planning or service-line growth decision support
- Experience with Sigma and/or Databricks
- Prior experience embedded within a client organization as a contract PM/BA
What is a BA at MSQ DX ?
The BA role and expectations tend to vary from company to company. At MSQ DX , BA’s often find themselves in a leadership role on their projects – they own the act of requirements gathering, documentation and the transformation of those requirements into user stories and tasks – thus knowing every aspect of a project in more detail than most other members of the team. Because of this, they must seamlessly be able to work with clients/product owners, solutions architects, developers, designers, and quality assurance personnel. An MSQ DX BA must be highly organized, self-guided and have a sense of pride and ownership in the work
