Where You Will Work

Freeport-McMoRan is a leading international metals company with global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in accounting and finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, engineering, and more. Our virtual internship program allows interns to work virtually as well as come together in person when needed at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. Interns can work remotely from most states in the U.S., with the exception of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded from virtual work based on business factors.

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, performs a variety of supply chain duties which would include but not limited to:

- Participates in system implementation/business process projects.

- Contributes to reporting, analytical, and date enrichment activities.

- Reviews inventory data within Inventory Planning System.

- Create analysis on Market trends and develop analysis in support of bid activities.

- Prepares system and business process training documentation.

- Assists with execution of training and system/business process rollout activities.

- Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

- Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Supply Chain, logistics, or closely related field; OR

- Recent college graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, Supply Chain, logistics, or closely related field.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

- Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, inventory control systems and methods, forms purchase orders and accounts payable processes.

- Ability to research and gather information related to vendors, contracts, equipment and supplies.

- Ability to use computer databases to research, maintain and update records and files.

Preferred Qualifications

- Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft office suite)

- The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.50-$29.25/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.
