Virtual Instructor – CSEC
This is a remote position.
Job Summary
The Virtual Instructor – CSEC will deliver high-quality online instruction to support students preparing for CSEC examinations. The instructor will be responsible for effective lesson design, subject-specific teaching, assessment, student-performance monitoring and the use of digital tools to promote active learning and examination readiness.

Working Hours and Teaching Load

Available between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday .

Available for Saturday classes, where required.

Teach a minimum oftwo subject classes, consisting ofthree sessions per week per subject.

Saturday instructors may be assigned up tosix (6) teaching hours, based on programme needs.

Attend planning meetings, training and assessment-related activities as scheduled.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
-
Plan and facilitate engaging online lessons aligned with the CSEC syllabus in the instructor’s subject specialisation.

Prepare students for internal assessments, School-Based Assessments where applicable, and external CSEC examinations.

Develop high-quality lesson materials, practice exercises, past-paper activities, quizzes and assessments.

Use online platforms, simulations, multimedia, collaborative tasks and other enrichment tools to enhance learning.

Provide timely marking, feedback and targeted support based on learner performance.

Track attendance, participation, assessment results and student progress; identify learners requiring intervention.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and submit required reports on time.

Use appropriate virtual classroom-management strategies to maintain learner engagement and participation.

Participate in professional development and demonstrate a willingness to be upskilled in online pedagogy and educational technology.

Comply with programme schedules, reporting requirements and quality-assurance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
-
A recognised undergraduate degree in Education or the relevant subject area; graduate-level education is preferred.

At leastthree (3) years’ teaching experiencein a school setting.

Demonstrated experience teaching the CSEC curriculum in the relevant subject specialisation.

Strong knowledge of CSEC assessment requirements, examination preparation and student-performance analysis.
Required Competencies

Strong subject-matter knowledge in Mathematics, English A, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology or Physics.

Ability to design structured, interactive and differentiated online lessons.

Strong digital literacy and confidence using virtual teaching platforms and educational technology.

Knowledge of best practices in remote instruction, online learner engagement and virtual classroom management.

Effective assessment design, marking, data analysis and intervention-planning skills.
-
Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
