Video Editor (CapCut Specialist) and Virtual Assistant, Part-Time, As-Needed, with Room to Grow
Society Digital is a digital marketing and web development agency in South Carolina. We build websites, run marketing for local businesses, and produce commercial photo, video and drone content. We’re looking for one reliable, long-term team member to handle video editing and production support on an as-needed basis, with the chance for more hours as our agency grows.
What you’ll do (starting role)
Edit short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and hype or highlight videos for events, racing and truck programs. These need fast pacing, beat-synced cuts, captions, transitions and music.
Edit longer videos for businesses, including construction project showcases, promos and testimonials.
Edit and organize photography and videography, including color grading, culling and exports. This includes real estate photo and video editing.
Assist with light admin work for our construction client: organizing project photos and footage, and posting to social media.
Deliver on time, communicate clearly, and keep projects organized in shared folders.
Where this role can go
We run a full digital marketing firm, and workload grows as we sign clients. If you have skills in any of the following, tell us. They can lead to more hours, more responsibility and higher pay:
Website building (GoHighLevel, WordPress, Shopify, or custom HTML/CSS)
GoHighLevel (GHL) workflows, funnels, CRM setup and automations
Real estate marketing, including listing photos, video tours and social content for agents
Social media management and scheduling
Google Business Profile and basic SEO
Required
Advanced CapCut skills. We work in CapCut and share projects, so you must be able to edit in it and collaborate in the same projects. Please tell us whether you use CapCut desktop, mobile or both, and whether you’ve used its team or cloud features.
A portfolio or reel of work you personally edited, with links.
Strong sense of pacing, audio and text. Our content is energetic, not corporate.
Good, stable internet and a computer that can handle 4K footage.
Clear written English.
Fast responses. You must reply to new assignments within a few hours during US business hours, even when you aren’t working that day.
Reliable delivery. Missing deadlines or going silent is the one thing we can’t work with.
Nice to have
Photo editing in Lightroom or Photoshop
Drone footage, color grading, sound design
Any of the skills listed under “Where this role can go”
Experience with automotive, motorsports, construction, real estate or small-business content
Schedule and workload
Part-time, as-needed. Expect roughly [10–20] hours a week on average, but it will vary. Some weeks will be busier and some lighter.
Projects come with a clear deadline and brief. You schedule the work around it.
Some availability during US Eastern business hours (9am–1pm ET) for quick questions and feedback
A short weekly check-in
This is a long-term working relationship, not a one-off gig. The right person will be our first call for every project.
Pay
Starting rate: $5/hour, for hours worked, paid every Friday through [Wise/PayPal]
Paid test edit before hiring
Performance review after 60 days. Raises are based on reliability, quality and any added skills you take on (website, GHL, real estate).
[Optional: $25–50 bonus for any month where every deadline is met]
How to apply
Start your message with the word “CAPCUT” so I know you read this. Then include:
Links to 2–3 videos you edited in CapCut
Your general availability and time zone
Which CapCut version you use and your computer’s RAM
Which of the extra skills above you have (website building, GoHighLevel, real estate, photo editing), with examples if you can
One thing you’d change in your favorite video to make it hit harder
Shortlisted applicants will get a paid test edit (about 1 hour of footage cut down to a 30–45 second reel).
Questions:
1. Which CapCut version do you use, and what’s your computer’s RAM?
2. Have you edited together with a client in a shared CapCut project? How?
3. Do you have experience with GoHighLevel, website building or real estate content? Describe it briefly.
4. This is part-time and as-needed. Are you comfortable with variable hours, and can you reply within a few hours of a new assignment?
This role requires you to be in the Philippines. If that means relocating or flying in, it is worth checking fares before you commit to a start date.
