Strategy Communications Lead
Job Description
We’re looking for a motivated communications professional to join the Global Media and Strategy Communications team to help drive key initiatives related to business strategy, financial communications and overall brand reputation. Under the direction of the senior manager of Global Media and Strategy, the ideal candidate will become a subject matter expert and develop compelling narratives that support the business area’s strategy and key financial communications. This role will develop strategic content, coordinate integrated communications initiatives, and deliver tactics through a variety of both internal and external communications channels including Tier-1 media engagements. This position serves as a trusted communications partner across the Corporate Communications organization, collaborating closely with CEO/COO Communications, Investor Relations, Finance, Government Affairs, Legal, Global Business Development & Strategy, and business area communications teams. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing ability with strong business acumen, project management discipline, and intellectual curiosity. This individual is comfortable synthesizing complex business, financial, geopolitical, and national security issues into compelling communications that resonate with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Support Enterprise Strategy Narratives
- Develop messaging, presentations, briefing materials, talking points, and written content that clearly communicate the larger enterprise strategy and corporate priorities.
- Translate complex business, financial, technology, and policy topics into compelling talking points tailored for external and internal stakeholders.
- Drive consistency of messaging across executive communications, enterprise campaigns and media relations.
- Provide recommendations for proactive media pitching related to long-term strategic priorities.
Support Financial Communications
- Assist in the development and coordination of communications supporting quarterly earnings, investor messaging, the annual report, and other financial milestones.
- Develop content that drives key financial narratives for both internal and external audiences to drive business success.
- Draft supporting communications materials, including executive talking points, Q&A documents, messaging frameworks, fact sheets, and internal communications.
Executive Communications & Thought Leadership
- Support preparation for media interviews, conferences, customer engagements, and policy forums.
- Partner to drive significant growth pillar focus areas while partnering with counterparts across the business.
- Research emerging industry, defense, geopolitical, technology, and policy developments to strengthen executive positioning.
Communications Planning and Operations
- Manage timelines, deliverables, approvals, editorial planning documents, and cross-functional coordination across multiple concurrent initiatives ensuring that communications activities remain aligned with business priorities.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor communications, investor sentiment, public policy developments and media narratives.
- Produce executive-ready summaries, strategic insights, and communications recommendations.
- Support measurement of communications effectiveness through media analysis, message penetration, and executive engagement metrics.
- Serve as a liaison for enterprise messaging resources and as a partner to representatives across the business.
