Sr. Manager, Product Design

We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Manager, Product Design to lead, inspire, and grow a team of product designers responsible for crafting intuitive, accessible, and elegant experiences across Discovery Education ’s suite of blended learning products. This is a player-coach role, combining hands-on design leadership with direct team management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, user research, and engineering, to shape strategy and deliver exceptional K–12 education solutions. With a deep commitment to user-centered design, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and delivering impactful, scalable experiences for students, educators, and administrators.
In This Role You Will:
- Strategic Product Leadership
◦ Partnering with product and engineering leads to define team roadmaps, resource needs, and strategic priorities ◦ Leading design contributions to key strategy discussions and long-term product visioning ◦ Identifying and prioritizing initiatives that ladder to product and company-level OKRs
- Hands-On Design Execution
◦ Designing intuitive, functional, and elegant user experiences across DE’s digital products ◦ Translating research and insights into user-centered design solutions ◦ Presenting design work in compelling ways that highlight user impact
- Team Management and Mentorship
◦ Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of product designers ◦ Facilitating 1:1s, design reviews, career planning conversations, and skills development ◦ Driving team engagement, growth, and operational excellence
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
◦ Working collaboratively with UXR, product, and engineering to integrate research and testing throughout the design process ◦ Coordinating design sprints, workshops, and other co-creation activities to support discovery and iteration ◦ Sourcing and hiring top-tier design talent to grow a high-performing team
- Process and Continuous Improvement
◦ Advocating for UX value and best practices across the organization ◦ Supporting scalable design processes that enhance team productivity and quality ◦ Tracking and evaluating design impact through data and user feedback

Credentials and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in product design, preferably in SaaS or EdTech environments
- 3+ years of experience in a design leadership role with direct reports
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-level design solutions within Agile teams
- Experience implementing product development methodologies (e.g., JTBD, Lean Canvas)
- Expertise in conducting and applying UX research and usability testing
- Legal right to work in the United States
This role is designated to be remote. The hiring range for this position is between $157,450-$174,950 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for an Annual Bonus.
