The Role

As part of a global enterprise technology team, you will contribute to building robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications using Node.js. You will work with modern backend technologies, follow industry best practices, and develop secure, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.

You will work in a collaborative Agile team comprising Architects, Technical Leads, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Developers, QA Automation Engineers, and DevOps experts, reporting to the Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Node.js.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with databases and external systems.

Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.

Implement secure and high-performance backend solutions.

Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

Participate in code reviews and follow continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Contribute to application architecture and technical design discussions.

Work with relational databases, optimize queries, and ensure efficient data management.

Troubleshoot backend issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.

Requirements
Must-Have Skills

3–4 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.

Good understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and Node.js fundamentals.

Hands-on experience with SQL databases, data modelling, and query optimization.

Strong fundamentals in OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

Experience writing automated unit tests using Jest, Mocha, or equivalent frameworks.

Understanding of authentication, authorization, error handling, and backend application security.

Ability to write clean, modular, reusable, and testable code.

Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile team.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Exposure to Docker, containerization, and cloud-based application deployment.

Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Agile engineering practices.

Familiarity with caching, message queues, application monitoring, and performance optimization.
