PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $229,300.00-$280,200.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $178,500.00 - $331,200.00 annually. At BECU , compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
As Sr. Associate General Counsel, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping how BECU manages legal risk across its vendor, technology, and strategic business partnerships. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, managing complex technology, SaaS, AI, and vendor contracting matters while supporting enterprise innovation initiatives and core banking regulatory matters. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel. You'll lead a collaborative team, establish contracting standards, and help modernize the way legal services are delivered across the organization. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Provide Strategic Legal Counsel: Deliver practical, business-focused contracting guidance to business leaders, risk management, compliance, government relations, and other key stakeholders to help the organization make informed decisions while managing risk in a rapidly evolving environment.

Lead Vendor & Commercial Contracting: Manage legal support for vendor agreements, ensuring contracts align with BECU 's strategic objectives and risk framework.

Negotiate Technology and Other Agreements: Review, draft, and negotiate complex technology, SaaS, AI, and data privacy, and other commercial agreements.

Drive Contracting Excellence: Develop and maintain contract playbooks, templates, and standardized risk positions that create consistency, efficiency, and scalable contracting practices.

Support CLM Transformation: Partner with procurement, vendor management, and business stakeholders to advance the implementation and adoption of BECU 's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform and related process improvements.

Lead and Develop Teams: Coach, mentor, and develop BECU ’s existing non-lawyer contract team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture and driving operational excellence.

Manage Complex Legal Matters: Serve as a senior escalation resource for significant legal contracting issues.

Oversee Legal Contracting Operations: Support department leadership in legal operations, outside counsel management, policy development
