Job Description:

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Solutions Architect of Cloud Solutions. GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Solutions Architect, our work depends on two activities that win and prove our work: writing winning technical proposals and building the proofs of concept that show agencies what "good" actually looks like.

Some weeks you'll be heads-down on a technical volume against a hard RFP deadline. Others you'll be in a sandbox environment standing up a working prototype for a client demo. If you like being the person who can both articulate the architecture on paper and then go build it, this is that job.

This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. You'll own solutions end to end, and you'll be trusted to run a bid's technical approach or a client POC without day-to-day direction. You will not be a full-time bid writer, and you will not be a full-time engineer; you'll be the bridge between them.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :

- Serve as a credible senior technical voice in front of federal customers, teaming partners, and cloud provider field teams

- Maintain working fluency in the compliance frameworks our clients operate under: FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF/ATO, and federal Zero Trust requirements under current OMB and CISA guidance

- Build and maintain relationships with [AWS, Microsoft, Google] public sector partner teams

Proposal and capture support:

- Serve as technical lead or contributing author on cloud architecture content for RFP, RFI, RFQ, and sources-sought responses: technical volumes, architecture diagrams, transition plans, and management approach sections

- Translate agency requirements (PWS/SOW/SOO) into defensible technical solutions with clear discriminators, not boilerplate

- Develop basis-of-estimate inputs, level-of-effort assumptions, and cloud cost models that pricing and capture can actually use

- Participate in Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews; incorporate reviewer feedback under deadline pressure without losing the thread of the solution

- Support oral presentations and technical Q&A with agency evaluators

- Build out our reusable technical library: reference architectures, technical case studies, reusable solution modules, and technical past-performance assets

Proofs of concept and prototyping:

- Scope, build, and demo working POCs and pilots in federal cloud environments that address a specific client problem

- Stand up infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and data or AI/ML pipelines as the use case demands

- Run technical discovery sessions and whiteboard workshops with client architects, CIO/CTO staff, and program leadership

- Evaluate prototypes for security, data protection, cost, and operational suitability. What we show has to survive contact with an ATO

- Document POC outcomes clearly enough that they become the technical foundation of the follow-on proposal or task order

- Hand off successful prototypes to delivery teams with architecture documentation, runbooks, and a clean IaC repo

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience

- Required Experience : 15+ years in cloud architecture, engineering, or technical presales, including 3+ years supporting federal government customers or federal contracts

- Required Technical Skills : Deep
