Senior Relationship Manager

Position summary
At Stratos Wealth Enterprises, we are building a scaled, high-performing, advisor-centric enterprise. We are seeking a Senior Relationship Manager who will serve as the strategic partner to advisory firms where Stratos Wealth Enterprises holds either an outright, majority, or minority ownership interest. The role will manage our most complex enterprise relationships, sitting at the intersection of consulting, operations, and leadership.
This role carries real accountability. You will own retention, expansion, integration, and operating performance across a portfolio of strategic, acquired, high-value, and unusually complex firms. You will engage founders, chief executives, senior advisors, and operating leaders to set multi-year direction, then convert that direction into measurable outcomes with clear owners and dates.
Success demands the gravitas, judgment, and business acumen to sit across the table from an owner-operator, earn trust quickly, and still challenge them to elevate performance. You will lead through influence rather than authority, align stakeholders across Stratos and our parent company, SEI, and translate enterprise strategy into practical plans that partner firms actually adopt. The role is flexible in location and expects travel up to 50 percent.
Key responsibilities
Strategic relationship leadership
- Own executive-level relationships for an assigned portfolio of strategic, enterprise, acquired, and integration-intensive firms.
- Build deep, durable relationships with founders, partners, and senior leadership teams, reducing key-person dependency and broadening sponsorship on both sides of the partnership.
- Establish multi-year relationship strategies that align firm priorities, Stratos capabilities, commercial objectives, service commitments, and risk considerations.
- Lead executive business reviews with founders, CEOs, and operating leaders, using data to frame decisions, surface risk, and create accountability.
- Anticipate retention risk, competitive threats, succession events, leadership change, and service or integration issues, and mobilize a response before value is at risk.
- Coordinate with Stratos’ Corporate Development and M&A teams to onboard, integrate, and support new firms joining Stratos Wealth Enterprises.
Practice integration and assimilation
- Lead post-acquisition integration efforts and ensure seamless onboarding into the Stratos ecosystem.
- Partner with firm leadership to align business models, processes, technology, talent, and culture with enterprise standards while protecting what makes each practice distinctive.
- Identify integration risk early and implement solutions that accelerate time to value.
- Connect integration milestones to relationship goals so onboarding, adoption, and growth advance together rather than sequentially.
Commercial growth, value creation, and negotiation
- Work directly with partners to develop and execute growth strategies, both organic and inorganic.
- Drive initiatives that enhance revenue generation, advisor productivity, and client experience across the portfolio.
- Serve as a thought partner on succession planning, talent development, market expansion, and practice economics.
- Lead or coordinate complex commercial discussions, scope of decisions, service commitments, and negotiations, partnering with finance, legal, compliance, sales, product, and executive leadership as required.
- Balance growth objectives against fiduciary, suitability, conflict-management, compliance, and client-interest considerations, and maintain a clear, data-supported view of relationship economics, pipeline, and forecast.
Operational excellence and process optimization
- Evaluate and improve operational workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
