Are you a skilled federal procurement professional with sharp critical thinking and problem-solving abilities? STR is seeking an experienced Temporary Senior Procurement Administrator to join our Contracts & Supply Chain team, supporting mission-critical defense and government programs. We anticipate this assignment to last approximately 3.5 months.
In this role, you will:

Lead with Purpose: Spearhead strategic procurement operations that support high-priority defense and government initiatives.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Programs, Finance, Contracts, and Engineering to understand requirements, align procurement activities with program requirements and schedule to deliver solutions that drive mission success.

Be the Go-To Expert: Tackle complex supply chain challenges for the DoW and Intelligence Community, providing deep expertise and innovative solutions.

Strategically Partner: Align with program teams and Contracts & Supply Chain leadership to develop and present strategic sourcing plans, including supplier selection, risk assessments, and performance reviews.

Apply Critical Thinking: Use your analytical skills and resourcefulness to identify risks, resolve complex issues, and develop creative, compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

- Manage the full procurement lifecycle from planning through closeout in accordance with company policies, FAR, and DFARS.

- Work closely with business, technical, and functional stakeholders to support business growth objectives and strong program performance.

- Develop and maintain effective external relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to support program objectives and strengthen STR ’s business partnerships.

- Conduct market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price reasonableness evaluations.

- Utilize purchasing and ERP systems to create and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance.

- Maintain accurate and complete procurement files and documentation in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company requirements.

- Experience using AI‑enabled tools and a strong willingness to learn and apply AI to drive efficiency and improve quality and effectiveness in Contracts and Supply Chain processes.

- Recommend and help implement process improvements to scale and optimize procurement activities and practices.

- Communicate effectively with internal customers, partners, and stakeholders; respond promptly to inquiries regarding order status, changes, and returns.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of Federal procurement, purchasing, or contracting experience (or Master's degree + 3 years)

- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (for which US Citizenship is required)

- Demonstrated experience in negotiations and supplier management.

- Experience with FAR, DFARS, and agency‑specific regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply federal acquisition policies in context.

- Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and counterfeit parts prevention practices.

- Collaborative, self‑motivated, and efficient, with strong business judgment and analytical skills; interest in optimizing procurement and contracting practices while maintaining compliance.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with customers, partners, and colleagues at all levels.

- Willingness to expand expertise across other areas of Supply Chain as well as Contracts.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $93,000.00 - $117,000.00

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
