Overview

The Senior Global Mobility & Immigration Specialist provides strategic leadership for Compassion's global mobility and immigration programs, ensuring employees can work across borders effectively, compliantly, and in alignment with organizational objectives. This role designs, implements, and continuously improves global policies and programs related to international assignments, relocations, immigration, remote work abroad, and other workforce mobility solutions.

As the organization's subject matter expert, the Senior Specialist advises leaders, People & Culture partners, and employees on complex mobility and immigration matters, balancing employee experience, compliance, risk management, and business needs. The role monitors industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging workforce practices to recommend innovative solutions and drive program effectiveness.

This position leads complex global initiatives, develops and maintains governance frameworks and policies, manages key vendor relationships, and ensures consistent administration across regions. As an integral part of the Global Compensation team, you may be required to engage in other broad-based compensation projects. The Senior Specialist also provides coaching and guidance to other team members while fostering strong partnerships with legal, security, finance, and business leaders to support Compassion's global workforce strategy.
What will you do?

Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors .

Design, analyze, and maintain Compassion’s global mobility and immigration program and policies, developing recommendations for global administration and compliance within the program. Communicate the concepts and program details to staff at all levels.

Manage ongoing and source new relationships with Immigration vendors and regional Employers of Record. Approve and negotiate contracts, ensure adherence to service level agreements and analyze research performed as needed. Continue to stay up-to-update with best practices and build professional network in the external market.

Evaluate and oversee the variety of tasks and processes to ensure successful mobilization and immigration cases. Build and maintain positive relations with leadership, providing subject matter expertise in Global Mobility and Immigration.

Drive managers and the mobility population through People and Culture programs and practices, including but not limited to annual merit, reward and recognition, performance review and action plans, onboarding experience, ongoing engagement, and termination.

Guide staff and coach leadership through global hires through secondment or Employer of Record, international and domestic relocations, short-term and long-term assignments, temporary remote work abroad, and immigration services, along with ensuring clarity on process documentation and stakeholder roles using tools like RACI etc.

Interpret & update policy and regulations to ensure the program follows local regulations. Gather and analyze mobility data and metrics to support proposed action and resolutions for continued growth and success of the program.
