Senior Marketing Underwriter
Role Summary
We are seeking an established loss sensitive, Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter with an entrepreneurial spirit to grow a territory for us. This individual will develop and grow a profitable book of excess commercial property and casualty business by driving broker relationships, soliciting target accounts, and developing underwriting programs. This position is best suited for a production underwriter who enjoys customer and broker interaction, has outstanding communication skills, and a strong industry reputation.
Responsibilities:

Performs advanced trend analytics and pricing recommendations to manage new business pipeline and renewals based on account analysis and industry trend. Gathers, organizes and assesses data needed to manage risk/exposures.

Meet profitability, account retention, and written premium goals determined by the Director of Underwriting.

Make independent underwriting decisions based on established underwriting guidelines and company policies.

Develop and adjust policy structure to ensure they meet the needs of clients while managing the Company’s risk and financial performance.

Ensure all underwriting activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.

Maintain detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in insurance, finance, economics or a related field is strongly preferred.

Ten or more years of commercial underwriting and/or marketing experience. Certified as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred.

Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.

High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit. Goal-oriented and delivers positive outcomes.

Other professional skills required include superior communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, listening); analyzing and problem solving; negotiation skills.
