Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary: This position is responsible for cost accounting and inventory reporting in support of corporate finance, including monthly Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory reconciliations, quarterly Excess and Obsolete (E&O) calculations, OCOGS expense reviews, and quarterly Inventory Overhead calculations. The role prepares standard financial worksheets and reports, records booking adjustment and accrual journal entries, forecasting, and process review, along with ad hoc analysis as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Reconcile Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory accounts monthly, researching and resolving variances

- Perform quarterly Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory calculations in accordance with company policy

- Conduct OCOGS (Other Cost of Goods Sold) expense reviews and analysis

- Prepare and record booking adjustment and accrual journal entries

- Perform quarterly Inventory Overhead calculations and analysis

- Assist with month-end close of the General Ledger for cost-related accounts

- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations on inventory and cost matters

- Support internal and external audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting

- Identify and recommend process improvements for cost accounting and inventory reporting

Requirements/Qualifications:

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Good communication and presentation skills

- Ability for independent thinking and self-direction

- Undergraduate degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)

- 5+ years of experience in accounting (cost accounting/public accounting/auditing preferred)

- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

- Oracle or similar ERP experience preferred

- Ability to accurately prepare financial reports

Compensation: This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range 930,000 MXN to 1,200,000 MXN. The posted range reflects the amount Extreme Networks reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role upon hire. This range is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria based on skills, experience, responsibility, and working conditions. Actual compensation offered will depend on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and work location.
