Accountabilities:
As a Senior Backend Engineer with DevOps experience, you will take ownership of backend development while contributing to system integration, deployment automation, and the reliability of cloud-native applications.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.

Build, enhance, and maintain microservice-based applications using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus.

Develop and optimize integrations with relational databases, messaging platforms, and enterprise services.

Contribute to the design and implementation of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

-

Support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments across development, testing, and production environments.

-

Troubleshoot application, integration, and deployment issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure code quality, scalability, maintainability, and architectural consistency.

Promote software engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

Apply DevOps practices to improve platform reliability, deployment efficiency, and operational performance.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows, infrastructure practices, and application delivery processes.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong Java backend engineering expertise with practical DevOps experience and a solid understanding of distributed, cloud-native applications.

Strong hands-on experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.

Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservice architectures.

Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

Practical experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational database technologies.

Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and automated testing.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes.

Experience troubleshooting applications across development, testing, deployment, and production environments.

Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous communication patterns.

Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka or similar platforms.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with GitLab CI, Argo CD, and Helm.

Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).

Experience working in cloud-native environments.

Familiarity with infrastructure automation and deployment automation practices.
