As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer. Project Summary
AIS is seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to design, build, and optimize secure Azure Virtual Desktop environments that provide a dependable user experience for Codex-enabled development and broader virtual desktop modernization for a federal customer.
Key Responsibilities

Engineer AVD host pools, session hosts, images, scaling plans, application delivery, and user profiles.

Create secure desktop patterns for Codex access, including the required network segmentation, firewall rules, browser and developer-tool controls.

Implement and support FSLogix, Entra ID, Intune, profile storage, image lifecycle, and monitoring integrations.

Plan and execute Citrix transition activities, performance validation, capacity planning, and user acceptance testing.

Troubleshoot performance, sign-in, profile, application, network, and graphics issues across the AVD stack.

Produce deployment standards, operational runbooks, and technical knowledge transfer for steady-state support.
Required For This Opportunity
-
7+ years of endpoint, virtual desktop, or Windows infrastructure engineering experience.

Hands-on AVD design and implementation experience with pooled and personal desktop patterns.

Strong knowledge of FSLogix, Windows 11, Entra ID, Intune, Azure networking, and profile-storage design.

Experience with image engineering, application packaging, performance tuning, and monitoring.

Ability to work independently in a secure, highly controlled enterprise environment.
Nice to Have Skills
- Citrix migration experience.
