Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Video Editor with a strong understanding of short-form social media content, organic virality, audience retention, and performance-driven editing.

This isn't simply a role for someone who can make videos look polished. We're looking for an editor who understands why content performs.

You’ll create and optimize high-impact videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, paid advertising, websites, and other digital channels. You should understand how hooks, pacing, storytelling, music, motion graphics, and editing choices influence watch time, retention, clicks, and engagement.

You'll also use performance data to continuously improve your work and collaborate closely with other editors, designers, and account managers.

The expected production volume is approximately 5–10 videos per day, so the ability to work quickly without compromising quality is essential.
Key Responsibilities

- Edit high-impact short-form and digital content that captures the authentic, hard-working energy of blue-collar and trades-based businesses.

- Create content engineered for organic reach, engagement, retention, and virality across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

- Develop strong opening hooks and use strategic pacing, storytelling, music, sound design, captions, and visual effects to maintain viewer attention.

- Analyze content performance metrics to understand why videos succeed or underperform and apply those insights to future edits.

- Continuously test and refine hooks, pacing, creative formats, music choices, and editing styles.

- Produce approximately 5–10 high-quality video edits per day while maintaining brand consistency.

- Create motion graphics and animations for social content, advertisements, and other marketing assets.

- Help elevate the creative quality of both the agency's own social presence and its client accounts.

- Collaborate with two existing video editors, sharing techniques, creative insights, and feedback to strengthen the team's overall output.

- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative workshops with editors, designers, account managers, and other internal stakeholders.

- Manage post-production workflows efficiently across both video and photo projects.

- Produce polished visual assets for social media, websites, advertising campaigns, and other digital channels.

- Stay current with social media trends, editing techniques, visual storytelling formats, emerging creative tools, and production technology.

- Integrate AI-powered media tools into workflows where they can improve production speed, creativity, or output quality.

- Maintain organized project files and collaborate effectively through Google Drive and Google Workspace.

Requirements

- 3–4+ years of professional video and/or photo production experience, ideally within a digital marketing agency or working directly with businesses.

- A strong portfolio demonstrating successful short-form social media editing for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

- Evidence of creating content that has generated meaningful organic reach, engagement, or virality.

- Strong understanding of social media performance mechanics, including watch time, audience retention, CTR, hooks, pacing, music trends, and viewer psychology.

- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

- Experience with Adobe Lightroom and other professional photo/video editing tools.
