About the Role
At Pavago , one of our clients is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Tester) to ensure software applications are thoroughly tested, reliable, and production-ready before release.
This role combines manual testing, test automation, defect management, performance testing, and close collaboration with engineering and product teams .
Youโll be responsible for:
- Test planning and execution
- Manual and regression testing
- Automated testing
- Bug identification and documentation
- Performance and API testing
- Quality reporting and release validation

What Youโll Own
Test Planning & Coverage
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Review requirements and user stories with product managers and developers.
- Define appropriate test coverage across:
- New features
- Integrations
- Regression scenarios
- User workflows
- Identify potential risks and edge cases early in the development lifecycle.
Manual Testing
- Execute:
- Functional testing
- Regression testing
- UI/UX testing
- Cross-browser testing
- Cross-device testing
- Validate new features and bug fixes before production release.
- Identify unexpected behaviors and usability issues.
- Log defects using:
- Jira
- Azure DevOps
- Similar bug-tracking platforms
- Provide clear reproduction steps, expected behavior, actual results, and supporting evidence.
- Retest fixes and verify impacted functionality.
Automation Testing
- Build and maintain automated test suites using:
- Selenium
- Cypress
- Playwright
- Identify high-value test cases for automation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using:
- GitHub Actions
- Jenkins
- GitLab CI
- Monitor automated test runs and troubleshoot failures.
- Improve automation coverage and reliability over time.
Performance, API & Security Testing
- Conduct load and stress testing using tools such as:
- Apache JMeter
- Locust
- Test APIs using tools such as:
- Postman
- RestAssured
- Identify performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.
- Support vulnerability testing and remediation efforts where required.
- Help ensure applications meet expected performance and security standards.
Documentation & Quality Reporting
- Maintain accurate:
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Test results
- Defect documentation
- Track quality metrics including:
- Defect density
- Test coverage
- Pass/fail rates
- Regression results
- Prepare clear quality reports for engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders.
- Highlight release risks before deployment.
Engineering & Product Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects.
- Participate in:
- Sprint planning
- Daily standups
- Retrospectives
- Release discussions
- Provide feedback on product usability and testability.
- Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
