Product Operations Lead, Insurance Platform
Counterpart is an insurtech platform reimagining management and professional liability for the modern workplace. We believe that when businesses lead with clarity and confidence, they become more resilient, more innovative, and better prepared for what's ahead. That's why we built the first Agentic Insurance™ system, where advanced AI and deep insurance expertise come together to proactively assess, mitigate, and manage risk. Backed by A rated carriers and trusted by brokers nationwide, our platform helps small businesses grow with confidence.
You'll build the systems and conditions that let a small team run a national platform: hunting bottlenecks, removing them, and making sure they don't come back, so product, underwriting, and engineering can move at the pace the company needs.
This role touches every part of how an insurance product works (coverage language, pricing, filings, distribution) and every part of how an AI native company runs. What we're looking for is operational rigor: relentless follow through, quick learning, and the judgment to keep a cross functional team on track and moving efficiently, no matter how complex the surface area gets.
HOW YOU OPERATE
- Find the biggest bottleneck in a function, fix it, then move to the next one. You'll be judged on how many you clear, not how many you document.
- Remove unnecessary steps before adding new ones.
- Use AI daily in your own work. You should be one of the heaviest AI users in the company.

Own New Product Launches, End to End
- Lead new product launches from kickoff to the point where they run on their own, without you day to day.
- Translate product strategy into clear specifications for pricing, data, and engineering, so requirements don't get lost or reinterpreted.
- Set the build order with engineering and data, and hold that order when priorities compete.

Turn Expert Judgment Into Systems
- Build a simple way for underwriting and pricing experts to enter their own rules and judgment into our systems, so they don't need to route through you.
- Keep terminology consistent across every system, model, and team, and update it as the business grows.
- Set up fast, accurate feedback from policies, claims, and lost deals, so we know quickly what's working and what needs to change.

Own Change Control and Quality
- Create and run one clear process for any change to what we sell (coverage, rules, pricing), so changes don't happen ad hoc.
- Catch problems in testing before they reach a customer.
- Move existing programs onto d infrastructure instead of maintaining separate one off setups.

YOU HAVE
- 7+ years solving complex problems through process and product development, or a clear track record of taking on more scope and responsibility over time.
- A systems thinker who obsesses over problems and builds solutions that scale, rather than one off fixes.
- Exceptional project management and documentation skills, with the ability to run multiple workstreams at once without dropping detail.
- A self starter mindset: comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a lean, fast moving environment.
- Real, daily comfort working with AI agents (delegating to them, checking their work, improving them). You automate a task the second time you do it, not the tenth.
- Evidence of grit: something you've pushed through more than once, even when it would have been easier to stop.
- Insurance background is a plus, not a requirement. If you have exposure to policy forms, rate and rule filings, or systems like SERFF, that's a bonus, not a prerequisite.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
- Tobias Schuler, Chief Underwriting Officer : After becoming a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society & working as a consultant actuary at EY for several years, Tobias went on to drive the actuarial data & systems teams at QBE. He further leveraged his deep insurance & technical expertise at Munich Re Digital Partners in North America, where he headed data
