Product Manager
We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead our ShipperConnect product team, including both product management and people management responsibilities. This is a full-time remote role with a flexible geographic location, but most of the team is in the U.S. Eastern Timezone (ET), so you’ll need significant overlap with ET working hours.
You’ll own all the product and engineering initiatives for the ShipperConnect product, and work closely with the Director of Product Engineering on company-wide product processes. While this role includes managing engineers, a deep technical background is not required. Our senior engineers and CTO will provide technical leadership and guidance, and this role will be more focused on the product direction and people management.
Day-to-day responsibilities include: tracking requests from customers and internal stakeholders and prioritizing them, talking to customers about existing and upcoming features, communicating about product priorities and timelines, documenting and educating others on how the application works, removing blockers from the ShipperConnect team so they can be effective, having 1:1s with the ShipperConnect team and addressing their concerns, conducting yearly reviews and supporting employee growth, hiring and onboarding new team members, working with company leadership on planning future initiatives, managing communications and mitigations for service outages, ensuring the correct balance of work between technical initiatives and product initiatives, making sure the engineering team knows the why behind the work, and maintaining the strong culture the team already possesses.
Travel is required for this role approximately three times a year. Current trips include:
- All-staff company onsite, typically in October (location varies)
- User event and golf tournament, typically in August (Nashville, TN)
- Engineering team onsite (location and timing vary)
