World Vision is hiring a Planned Giving Officer II to support our Planned Giving team within the Transforamtional Engagement Division. At a Glance Role: Planned Giving Officer II Reports to: Senior Manager, Planned Giving Location: Remote Required Experience: Two-year degree or equivalent work experience (four years). Bachelor's degree preferred. In addition to education or education equivalent, requires five years of work experience, including a minimum of three years of successful sales/fundraising experience working in a phone or face-to-face sales/fundraising environment with proven ability to take prospects through sales cycle to close large gifts. Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer. Estimated hiring range: $63,600 – $85,900 The Job The Planned Giving Officer will develop long-term relationships with prospective planned giving donors primarily through voice-to-voice interaction, and occasional face-to-face donor development. Initiate, develop and grow fundraising with loyal donors whose giving capacity ranges from $10,000 and up with goal of closing planned gifts. Develop donor relationships from qualification through acceptance of planned gifts at various levels. Qualify higher level leads and develop donor relationships for referrals to Planned Giving Directors. Steward World Vision Legacy Society donors to increase retention levels. Coach Planned Giving Officers in the ability to cultivate and retain pipeline of planned gifts. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign. Responsibilities will include

- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

- Responsible for building relationships and cultivating loyal donors to secure an annual fundraising goal of at least $1,500,000 in planned giving commitments.

◦ Demonstrate knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including wills, living trusts, and charitable gift annuities as well as a fundamental understanding of charitable remainder trusts. ◦ Engage with high value leads and donors primarily via voice-to-voice interactions to cultivate planned gifts. Engage in relational fundraising over several conversations with donors, including understanding donors’ needs and goals in order to customize invitation, motivating donors to make a significant commitment. ◦ Understand and articulate World Vision's transformational model and relate mission and work to align donor's goals and interests to maximize legacy generosity.

- Steward World Vision Legacy Society donors by regular communications (such as via the phone, face to face, personal written messages) to increase retention of constituencies.

- Assist other Development staff in the recruitment of new members. Maintain and ensure accuracy of constituent CRM.

- Support other Planned Giving Officers on how to engage donors and cultivate relationships that lead to planned gifts for World Vision US through telephone interaction. Coach team members in relational fundraising strategies and provide up-to-date resources in order to increase Planned Giving Officers’ ability to close planned gifts.

◦ Develop and produce customized gift proposals for donors through use of specialized software to generate financial, tax and legal implications for fits for a donor's lifetime. ◦ Provide basic information regarding tax and financial implications of gift and interpret benefits to donor in discussions to advance closing gifts. ◦ Discern when complex donor inquiries should be referred to other team members and facilitate "warm handoffs" as needed. ◦ Ensure strategic prospect plans are developed and utiliz
