Join Honeycomb as a Payroll Manager and be a key player in our exciting global expansion! Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll have a pivotal role in shaping our payroll operations. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in the dynamic environment of a startup. What you’ll do in the role:
- Maintain, review and validate data for US payroll, Canada Payroll, UK Payroll, and additional Employer of Record payrolls
- Process payments for final paychecks, adjustments and special pay
- Process and approve employee expense reports in alignment with the Company Purchase & Expense Policy
- Manage Navan, formerly Tripactions, travel platform for employees and guests of the Company
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws in addition to Global payroll compliance and company policies
- Maintain accrued PTO schedules for applicable subsidiaries in accordance with local laws
- Audit payroll tax records
- Lead annual audit for 401k, Workers Compensation, and assist with the general financial statement audit
- Create and maintain process documentation and internal controls
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify payroll data against financial records.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries
- Promptly address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Stay updated on Global tax regulations and compliance requirements affecting payroll processes
- Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports to various internal departments such as Finance and People Teams, as well as provide commentary on flux and trends
- Administer and maintain payroll systems, ensure data integrity and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with HR, finance and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions and salary changes.
- Maintain employee data changes, including manager and department updates across Spend Platform, Airbase
- Maintain employee-related benefit allocations and employee program trackers, including healthcare, professional development stipend, and work-from-home stipend programs
- Monthly flux analysis for payroll-related expense accounts
What you’ll bring to the role:
- BS in Finance or Accounting or related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in SaaS or Start Up environment
- Proficiency in Rippling required
- Experience with multi-subsidiaries and global payroll
- Experience using HRIS systems and payroll processors such as Rippling, Vistra and Remote
- Extremely detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll procedures and global tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and general ledger maintenance.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel preferred
Base Salary based on level of experience
$125,000 — $150,000 USD
