We're looking for a Shopify Developer with technical SEO experience to help our client, a healthcare company, get found on Google and in AI search.

This role is ideal for someone who has done hands-on technical SEO work, ideally at a marketing or SEO agency, and who is comfortable working in a live store's code without close supervision.

The client has an in-house web designer and an SEO plan from a recent site audit. You'll handle the technical side: building that plan into the Shopify site and keeping it healthy.

These are the types of work you may be assigned:
- Technical SEO and AI search
- Add and correct schema markup on each page, directly in the Shopify theme
- Make sure page titles, meta descriptions, and other metadata are complete and correct
- Build the client's SEO and AI search recommendations into the site

- Site audits
- Run weekly technical SEO audits in SEMrush
- Find and fix broken and outdated links, including broken backlinks
- Confirm with the client where pages with broken links should point going forward

- Shopify maintenance
- Keep apps updated and working
- Review installed apps and remove or replace any that slow down the site
- Edit the Shopify theme and add new pages
- Check that site features such as inventory work correctly and connect to the client's marketing tools

- Working with the client team
- Work with the client's web designer to build their designs into the existing Shopify theme

Requirements
What are we looking for?
- At least 3 years as a Shopify developer
- Hands-on technical SEO experience, including schema markup and metadata
- Strong command of Shopify themes and Liquid code
- Proven track record running site audits and fixing broken links, using SEMrush or a similar SEO tool
- Background in optimizing sites for AI search (preferred)

Skills and qualities required for this role:
- Conversational business English and clear written communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to explain technical changes in plain language to a non-technical team
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
