Member of Technical Staff

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-stack engineering role at an AI-powered legal technology company, where you will own demanding problems across the platform and ship software that powers real legal work. From document processing and AI integration to APIs and user-facing features, reliability and output quality matter every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Build reliable APIs, backend services, and document processing workflows that support research, drafting, review, and finished work product.

- Ship core product features end-to-end, from technical design through release and iteration, working closely with engineers and legal domain experts.

- Integrate AI and LLM capabilities into practical workflows with attention to output quality, speed, and dependable behavior.

- Make complex document tasks easier to use through clear interfaces and close collaboration across the stack.

- Turn user needs into focused engineering plans and communicate the tradeoffs behind your decisions.

- Improve performance, investigate production issues, and strengthen testing, monitoring, and code quality.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Demonstrated experience shipping and maintaining production web applications or services.

- Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript, with sound software design fundamentals.

- Hands-on experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, or distributed backend systems.

- Experience building document processing workflows and integrating AI or LLM capabilities into production systems.

- A practical approach to testing, code review, debugging, and post-launch system improvement.

- Clear written communication and comfort taking ownership on a distributed team.

- Background in any of the following is a plus: frontend development, products with complex data and security needs, workflow automation, or legal technology.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Annual base salary: $180,000 to $250,000 USD, depending on relevant skills, experience, and role scope. The role includes substantial equity ownership and direct input into product direction. Visa sponsorship is not available.
