The opportunity

Join MaxAccelerate and take technical ownership of the platforms that organisations depend on to manage their critical assets. We are looking for an experienced IBM Maximo Infrastructure Architect to lead complete Maximo Application Suite 9 implementations for clients around the world.

You will work across multiple client engagements and industry verticals through our nearshore delivery model, combining architecture leadership with hands-on installation and engineering. Alongside client delivery, you will contribute to MaxAccelerate AI, helping build the infrastructure and integrations that support AI-enabled asset management.

This is a fully remote role with the opportunity to work from our Dubai offices, planned to open in 2027. It is a chance to broaden your international project experience, influence our technical standards and help shape how Maximo and AI work together.

What you will do

Lead complete MAS 9 implementations. Own infrastructure discovery, architecture, sizing, prerequisite validation, installation, configuration, testing, production go-live and operational handover.

Design and build the platform. Deliver secure, resilient MAS 9 environments on Red Hat OpenShift across IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, private cloud and on-premises deployments.

Deploy the applications clients need. Install and configure MAS core, Maximo Manage and relevant applications, industry solutions and add-ons, working with functional and application specialists.

Deliver upgrades and migrations. Plan environment readiness, migration rehearsals, cutover, rollback and post-go-live support for clients moving from legacy Maximo or earlier MAS releases.

Engineer for reliable operations. Design and validate high availability, backup, restoration and disaster recovery. Use Prometheus and Grafana to establish monitoring, performance baselines and capacity plans.

Automate delivery. Use IBM MAS CLI, Ansible, Terraform and OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton to create repeatable builds and controlled deployment workflows.

Work directly with global clients. Lead technical workshops, explain design decisions, manage infrastructure dependencies and produce clear architecture documents and runbooks.

Contribute to MaxAccelerate AI. Work with AI and data specialists on secure hosting, connectivity and integration between Maximo environments, enterprise data and AI applications.

Strengthen our delivery team. Troubleshoot complex issues, mentor engineers and share practical lessons across international projects.

Essential experience

Proven full end-to-end MAS 9 installation experience. You must have personally led or delivered complete production implementations, from infrastructure preparation through go-live and handover.

Delivery across multiple industry verticals. Demonstrable Maximo/MAS experience in different sectors, such as energy and utilities, renewables, rail and transport, manufacturing, aviation, oil and gas, or facilities management.

Strong Red Hat OpenShift expertise. Hands-on experience with the oc CLI, operators, containers, persistent storage, networking, certificates, security and platform troubleshooting.

Enterprise infrastructure knowledge. Strong Linux skills and experience with DNS, load balancing, TLS, identity integration and access control.

Cloud and deployment architecture. Experience designing and delivering Maximo/MAS infrastructure across IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including networking, storage, security, availability and hybrid connectivity.

Database platforms and SQL. Hands-on experience with IBM Db2, Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server for Maximo Manage, including connectivity, SQL troubleshooting and migrations. Work with database teams on performance, backup and recovery, using configurations supported by the selected release.

Apache Kafka. Experience deploying, configuring, securing and monitoring Kafka for Maximo integrations and event streaming, including brokers, topics and connectivity, where required by the solution architecture.

Production delivery discipline. Experience with release-specific compatibility checks, upgrades, performance tuning, recovery testing and technical documentation.

Confident client communication. Ability to lead technical discussions, explain trade-offs and collaborate with security, cloud, database and Maximo application teams.

Effective remote working. Ability to manage priorities across client engagements and work with agreed time-zone overlap for international delivery.

DevOps tools and platforms

Strong MAS automation and OpenShift skills are essential. The wider toolset will vary by client project.

MAS automation. IBM MAS CLI and Ansible, including the ibm.mas_devops collection, with experience running and troubleshooting OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton.

Infrastructure as code and scripting. Terraform, YAML and Bash or Python for provisioning, configuration and repeatable operational tasks.

Version control and CI/CD. Git and one or more of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps for controlled changes and deployment pipelines.

Container tooling. OpenShift oc, Podman or Docker, and image registries such as Red Hat Quay.

GitOps and configuration. Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps experience is valuable; familiarity with Helm and Kustomize is advantageous.

Monitoring and alerting. Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure and application metrics, dashboards and operational alerts.

Additional experience we value

Deployment of Maximo industry solutions, Mobile or other MAS applications.

AI infrastructure, private model hosting, data platforms or secure enterprise integrations.

Relevant IBM Maximo, Red Hat OpenShift or cloud certifications.

Consulting, managed services or nearshore delivery experience.
