The opportunity

The Manager, LMS Integrations and Extensibility leads a cross-functional technical team responsible for the integration ecosystem and extensibility standards surrounding the learning management system (LMS), with a primary focus on D2L Brightspace and its connected services. This role formalizes ownership for SIS/LMS interoperability (including Banner–Brightspace integration components), LTI-based and API-driven integrations, SSO and identity flows, and custom integration tooling that enables scaled delivery across the learning environment. The role is also responsible for leading process ownership and continuous enhancement of the course rollout and grade pass-back processes.

Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining integration standards in the learning ecosystem (including 1EdTech standards such as LTI and related interoperability practices), managing an integrations and customization roadmap, ensuring high-quality delivery through effective product ownership and thorough testing/UAT, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, reliable support services, and reducing single points of failure by building depth of expertise across the team. The Manager of LMS Extensibility strengthens collaboration with internal partners (e.g., platform teams, EIT/development, Banner-Brightspace integration stakeholders, LMS Operations, and academic and operational units) as well as external partners (e.g., D2L, 1EdTech) to ensure integrations are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned to institutional priorities and term-based delivery timelines. You will report to the Director of Academic Technology.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead a formal, cross-functional LMS Extensibility function focused on integrations, interoperability standards, and platform extensibility.

- Own the integrations and customization portfolio and roadmap for the LMS ecosystem, including intake processes, prioritization frameworks, dependency mapping, and delivery planning aligned to academic calendars and release cycles.

- Define, maintain, and socialize LMS integration standards (e.g., LTI, API integration practices, identity/SSO patterns, data handling expectations, and operational readiness requirements).

- Build and maintain team expertise and institutional readiness around 1EdTech interoperability standards and related best practices.

- Serve as the primary point of accountability for LMS integration governance, ensuring consistent approaches across vendors, internal development teams, and operational stakeholders.

- Formalize ownership of Banner–Brightspace integration components, including product ownership and process ownership responsibilities, configuration alignment, issue triage coordination, and lifecycle planning in close partnership with SIS,
