Position Title: Manager, Health Programs, Special Olympics Europe Eurasia
Location: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Poland, Italy, Bulgaria Remote / with international travel as required.

Reports to (supervisor): Sr . Director, Health Programs SOEE region and Opening Eyes global.
Salary: 52,500 - 55,265.90 euros
This is a temporary full-time position for the period of 2026 – March 31 st , 2028
Position Summary:
The Manager Special Olympics Health Programs supports the development and implementation of health initiatives across all 4 pillars of the SOI PATH to health equity strategy in the Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia region. Special Olympics Health programs consist of but are not limited to following initiatives: Healthy Athletes, Healthy Communities, Health Systems work, Training and Education, and Fitness. The Manager, Health Programs will work in close cooperation with the Sr. Director, Health programs as well as the Manager for Young Athletes, Families, MATP and Athlete Leadership in SOEE to deliver these initiatives to and with national programs. The Manger Health Programs will also assist and support the implementation and collaboration on health projects, that are funded by the European Union or other donors and help further strengthen the profile of SOEE’s health work.
Travel to events, meeting, trainings etc. abroad are required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Administration and grant management of Health Initiatives
- SOI funding for health programs: Strategic budget development, allocation and monitoring of funding to SOEE programs across different funding schemes (Health Impact and Enhancement Grants, Healthy Athletes Grants and mini grants, money for trainings ) in collaboration with the SOEE Health team.
- Communication with Programs about funding allocation across programmatic areas, together with the SOEE Health team.
- Compile and regularly update a grants and activity tracker expected project outcomes towards regional goals.
- Grant management: support programs in writing, reporting and execution of health grant applications, including project proposals and The main initiatives are Healthy Athletes, Health Impact and Enhancement Grants, and other SOI sub-grants.
- Healthy Athletes: ensure events run Programs are up to date on latest SOI resources and development. Support logistics of events, by provision of screening equipment and supplies, training materials and guidance on data collection, dissemination. Healthy Communities: provide technical assistance to SO programs implementing Health Impact Grants through virtual meetings incl. trouble shooting of technical issues (in SmartSimple).
- Act as the Liaison between SOI and the regional programs to ensure successful grant implementation and coordinate grant revisions and reporting within give
- Together with SOEE Health team, provide technical support and feedback to SOI to improve grant processes and management.
Managing Training of Health Care Professionals:
- Organize and manage the recruitment of new Clinical Directors in collaboration with national programs, clinical advisors and SOI.
- Facilitate access to training resources and facilitate in person mentor training events for trainees.
- Logistical support for mentor training event at program level, as well as handling of financial aspects of the trainings with the trainees, SOEE, SOI and the Programs.

Regional Health Work Development and Partnerships:
- Support Programs and LOCs that bid for WG in the region in organization of Health Events during WG and prior.
- Ensuring that health initiatives are an integral part of other SOEE departments (speak at events, share materials, educate re latest resources)
