The Machine Safety Manager will function as the regional Machine Safety Subject Matter Expert and Project Manager, responsible for supporting ELIP US/LATAM sites in assessing equipment risks, identifying safeguarding requirements, developing risk-reduction strategies, and managing machine safety projects through successful implementation. This role requires strong technical expertise in machine safety standards and the ability to lead cross-functional projects that improve employee safety, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the ELIP US/LATAM Machine Safety Program by serving as the regional subject matter expert and ensuring compliance with ABB requirements, OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, NFPA requirements, and other applicable machine safety standards.

Conduct Machine Risk Assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risk levels, and develop practical safeguarding solutions that reduce risk and improve workplace safety.

Manage Machine Safety Projects from assessment through implementation, including engineering review, vendor coordination, installation, validation, budgeting, scheduling, and project closeout.

Partner with Cross-Functional Teams including operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE, contractors, and equipment suppliers to design, install, and validate effective machine safeguarding and control solutions.

Drive Program Governance and Continuous Improvement by developing standards, monitoring project progress and corrective actions, validating risk reduction measures, and sharing best practices across all facilities.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of progressive experience with a focus on manufacturing or Associate's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.

Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) required (must be able to obtain within 6 months if not currently).

OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 12100, or ISO 13849 certifications preferred.

Willing to travel up to 50% percent of time.

Advanced use of 3rd party database management systems, MS Office, etc.

Strong Leadership and Influencing Skills with the ability to communicate effectively, coach stakeholders, and drive engagement across all organizational levels.

Strategic Program Development Experience with a proven track record of developing and executing HSE initiatives that deliver measurable business and safety outcomes.

Project and Change Management Expertise with the ability to lead complex initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and successfully implement organizational change.

Advanced Technical and Digital Proficiency utilizing HSE management systems, data analytics, digital tools, and technology solutions to monitor and improve program performance.

Professional HSE Knowledge and Compliance Expertise including advanced training and certifications in occupational health, safety, environmental management systems, auditing, regulatory compliance, and document control
